The Economic Geography of the North East (EGotNE) fills gaps in region's evidence base which emerged from a series of reviews of policy and research in the North East in 2009. The specific questions which EGotNE aims to answer are:
•- Where are the deprived areas and the economic hotspots in the region, and what are the linkages between them?
•- What are the long-range commuting patterns in the region?
•- What is the geography of the North East, by industry?
•- What are the factors influencing deprivation?
•- Where are the Functional Economic Areas in the North East?
EGotNE constitutes an invluable part of the evidence base for future regional and local strategies.
